"For The Babies" Gala - Thursday, May 13 2010
The Villa, Mountain Lakes

You are invited to the Lake Drive Foundation's signature event "For The Babies" Gala.  The evening includes an elegant dinner, live and silent auction, a special performance by the Lake Drive students, and the presentation of the Honorable John H Ewing "Friends of Deaf Children Award" to Curtis Pride, the first deaf player in the modern era of Major League Baseball.

In addition to graduating with a 3.6 GPA, Curtis excelled in baseball, basketball and soccer. He was named as one of the top 15 youth soccer players in the world.  A four-year basketball starter at William and Mary, Curtis also played baseball part-time in the Mets organization. In 1990 he graduated from William and Mary with a degree in finance. Curtis has subsequently enjoyed a successful career in professional baseball, and played with five major league teams.

Today he is baseball coach at Gallaudet. Curtis established the "Together With Pride Foundation" to provide support for hearing impaired children and their families. Curtis teaches hearing impaired children how to set and achieve their goals while encouraging them to believe in themselves. Join us in celebrating this inspirational role model for all children.
