Storytime at the Library
Storytime starts Tuesday, September 18.
Tuesdays:10am to 11:00am,3 to 5 years.
Tuesdays:11am to 11:30am,1½ to 3 years.
Fridays:11am to 11:30am,1½ to 3 years.
There are two sessions for the younger children.  Choose one, or even both!  All sessions include a craft!  The program is free for Mountain Lakes residents.  Non-residents may attend on a space-available basis for a fee.  Registration is required.  Register on line by clicking here or by phone or just drop in.

BookLetters
The Mountain Lakes Library is pleased to announce another new service for patrons -- BookLetters.  Sign up easily, for any of over 25 email newsletters with information about the latest books, audiobooks, and information about authors.  Fiction and non-fiction works are included, and there are specific lists for teens' and childrens' works, business, science fiction and fantasy, and book club choices.

Is it Google?  Is it Yahoo?  No, it's JerseyClicks!  JerseyClicks allows you to search up to 15 full-text resources simultaneously through one user-friendly interface.  It gives New Jersey residents access, at no charge, to resources that are not normally available free on the Internet.  Choose from 27 high quality databases covering subjects such as health, history, business, education, science, current events, literature, and popular fiction, as well as Spanish-language magazine articles.

    ReferenceUSA -- Contains contact information and profile data for 12 million U.S. companies. Listings are searchable and sortable by business name, location, yellow page heading, SIC code and size of operation. Good tool for creating target lists of prospective employers.
    ProQuest -- Full-text journals across a wide range of subject areas, including business, education, literature, political science, and psychology. Some titles go back to 1971.
    EBSCO -- Full-text magazine database (Remember: use your library card number as PATRON ID)
    Facts on File -- Scientific, historical, and geographic data.
    Regional Newspapers -- Full text

The Craven Miniature Rooms
This exhibit of exquisitely detailed miniature rooms by local artist Edgar Craven is on permanent display at the Mountain Lakes Library.

The Medal of Honor/Distinguished Service Medal Display
The nation's highest military honors went to two residents of Mountain Lakes for gallantry, skill, and heroism during World War II. A permanent display in the library shows the actual medals and describes the feats of these two highly decorated officers.
