11. Briarcliff School


Briarcliff opened in 1936 as the first public high school.  It housed grades 7-12 until the new high school opened in 1959.  Briarcliff was built by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) during the Great Depression to provide jobs to local residents.

To Library:

Continue in the same direction on Briarcliff Road and make the first right onto Bellvale Road.  At the fork, go left onto Ball Road and continue until you reach Elm Road.  Turn left and walk down the hill.  The Library is across the street.
