2. Midvale Stores
54 Midvale Road
In 1914, Joseph Yaccarino opened a grocery store followed by a drug store, luncheonette, taxi service, dry cleaning, and tailor shop. Half of the stores were later destroyed by fire. From 1930-1954, it also housed the library.
To Site 3: Mountain Lake & Island Beach
Follow Midvale Road uphill past the Stores until you get to Lake Drive. Make a left onto Lake Drive and the parking area for Midvale Dock will be on your right. Look across Mountain Lake and you will be able to see Island Beach
