6. 184 Laurel Hill Road

184 Laurel Hill Road was a custom-designed house built by Hapgood.  It was the first house built on that side of Mountain Lake.  In 1911, it burned to the ground because at that time the nearest fire department was in Hanover, approximately an hour away.  The owners rebuilt the house exactly the way it was before, using the same foundation.
