Recyclables are collected on the same day as trash. All recycling containers/receptacles should have handles and lids to prevent materials from blowing out on windy days, and must not exceed 50 pounds when full. Any item listed below as non-recyclable should be thrown in the trash. Other Recycling options to keep these items from landfills.
Put all of the following types of cans, bottles and jars together in a reusable container (hauler will leave container.) NO plastic bags or fims.
Be sure to rinse. Include metal caps and lids. NO foil or pie plates/food trays. NO paint or aerosol cans.
Be sure to rinse. Include clear, brown & green glass bottles and jars. Remove lids. NO plastic caps. NO plate glass or mirrors, drinking glasses, light bulbs, ceramics, or Pyrex®.
Check for #1 & #2 on bottles only (necks narrower than bases). Be sure to rinse. NO containers of oil, anti-freeze or hazardous waste. NO hard plastics, plant pots/trays, berry or lettuce containers, toys or plastic bags.
All paper may be put together in one non-reusable container (hauler will take container). Use a paper bag or cardboard box.
Newspaper including glossy inserts.
Junk Mail and Office Paper -- Computer and copy paper, envelopes and manila folders. NO metal clips or carbon paper.
Magazines, catalogs and coupons -- NO metallic/foil gift wrap or carbon paper.
Soft-cover books -- Soft-cover workbooks, paperbacks, phone books, and books with hard covers removed. (Put hard covers/non-paper bindings in the trash.)
Chipboard and Boxboard -- Cereal (liners removed) and pasta boxes, gift boxes, notebook backing, egg cartons, paper towel cores, and tissue boxes (plastic removed). NO metallic or wax coating of any kind. NO beer/soda cartons, frozen food packaging, gable top milk/juice cartons, or juice boxes.
Brown paper bags (non-paper handles removed.)
Corrugated Cardboard Boxes -- Empty and flatten. Bring large quantities flattened to Recycling Center. NO packing material of any kind. Other Recycling options to keep these from landfills.
