Mission Statement
The Nite Owls is a social organization, open to
all women residing in either
Mountain Lakes
or a surrounding town. Its purpose is to provide evening social
activities and networking opportunities through monthly night time meetings. We
are also committed to giving back to our greater community where real needs
exist.
Meetings
Every "General
Meeting" (anything not listed as a 'Special Event') typically follows the
structure of being primarily social with a 20-40 minute meeting portion
dedicated to addressing organizational issues and any voting that needs to be
done. General meetings begin at 7:30pm.
Memberships
The annual membership fee is $40, checks should be made payable to
our treasurer, Deborah Shertzer. We also request each member to contribute a
bottle of wine, if so inclined, at each meeting.
The exceptions to this are "Special
Events" which generally are 100% social (no 'group' discussion time),
have a first-come ~ first-'reserved' sign-up process, include spouses, who on
Saturday nights have a per person charge.
Communications
Our group communicates and operates primarily through the use of
e-mail. Please be sure to indicate your preferred email address on the
membership form and communicate any future changes to deenalynch@aol.com. Coming
soon ... our new website which will be accessed through Mountain Lakes
website.

Charity
This year we’ve committed to provide Holiday gifts for two
families housed at the New Jersey Battered Women’s Service, Inc. We are looking
for two volunteers to serve as ‘captains’ for each family. Captains will
coordinate collection of items requested by the families. All members are
encouraged to participate in this important effort. Any money raised throughout
the year will be distributed to charitable organizations decided upon by our
membership.
Networking
As part of our new website we will launch an area specifically for
business/personal networking. If you have a business or talent you would like
share with the group, please contact Deena Lynch (deenalynch@aol.com) with
details to include on the site.
