Robin Cooper is the Director of Children's Ministries at the church. Robin grew up in Elmhurst, IL, a suburb of Chicago, spending much of her time at the Bethel United Church of Christ there! She attended DePauw University in Greencastle, IN, majoring in Elementary Education. She married and moved to New Jersey, teaching both fourth and fifth grades before having her two children. She and her family joined The Community Church nearly seventeen years ago, and since that time, Robin has served on several committees (including chairing the Board of Christian Education), been the church secretary, and sung in the Chancel Choir. Her ministry centers on providing a safe space for every child of God and programs to keep children and youth wanting to be at this church. Robin runs God's Little Outreach Workers (GLOW) for first, second, and third graders; Tuesday Evening Supper Club (TESC) for fourth and fifth graders; a Fall play; an intergenerational spring Talent Show; and Vacation Bible School in the summer. Her favorite Sunday of all is when the children of the church create and lead worship for everyone one Sunday in the winter. The children do everything from playing the prelude and ringing the bells, to writing the call to worship and creating the sermon. Robin's mission is to facilitate an environment that creates a generation of people who love to worship and praise God, and she cannot wait to meet YOU!
