The Hemlock Wooly Adelgid in combination with other stress factors is causing a serious decline of Eastern Hemlocks. Several notable stands in this region have been virtually eliminated: Valhalla Glen, Tilman’s Ravine, and most of the large hemlocks in the Tourne.
