	MOUNTAIN LAKES 55 Plus Committee
	Mission and Objectives

MISSION:	To plan and coordinate activities for both education and entertainment of senior citizens, to enhance their healthful enjoyment of living in Mountain Lakes. To acquaint seniors with services provided by county, state and national organizations, such as transportation, the Midday Food Program, and health issues. To act as liaison between seniors and various public-spirited organizations such as the Mountain Lakes Educational Foundation, the Recreation Commission, the Mountain Lakes Alliance, and the Health Commission. To encourage seniors to participate in community events such as the annual trout derby, courses provided by the school system, attendance at plays and musicals put on by the High School, and working with the Lake Drive School.

Goals:	1.	Carry out the objectives of the Mission Statement.
	2.	Publicize the work and happenings of the group.
	3.	Arrange out-of-town trips to places that will provide enjoyment for and enrich the lives of our members
	4.	Provide interesting meetings with appropriate food to foster pre-meeting socialization.
	5.	Keep informed as to changes in public services available to seniors.
	6.	Work with the Police Department to identify single seniors who live alone and may need a friendly hand.
