- Next bulletin will be done in

The
Commission discussed the sad news of Denise resigning her post as Rec
Director. The Commission debated the skills
needed for Rec Director – interaction with multiple town and other town groups;
organizational skills to help coordinate multiple schedules; works well with
kids, teens, young adults, mid-lifers, and seniors; creative; knowing the town
and responding to its needs; resiliency; political skills; Rutgers’ certified
preferred; thick skin, etc.
We also
will need a plan to replace Dede in the next few summers just in case she wants
to retire. Rec agreed that we would like
to maintain or grow the current Rec program.
Beach experience may be helpful as the beach program will be undergoing
change over the next few years. Mike to
contact Joe Tempesta regarding how best to do the interview process. Mike to ask Rec members for any key questions
to ask. Denise has agreed to stay on Rec
as a member at least for a transition period.
Denise was thanked profusely for her 8 years of selflessly and
creatively serving as Rec Director and serving as a true smiling ambassador for
our town. She will be sorely missed and
long remembered.
