OBJECTIVE: | To bring about improvement in the physical appearance of the Borough. |
|
CHARTER: | The Committee should develop plans for the improvement of the physical appearance of the Borough with particular emphasis on the business areas, the entrances to Mountain Lakes and the general design of the community. The Committee may make recommendations to other Borough Committees or officials. The Committee may also, after proper approval by the Borough Manager, put their plans into effect themselves. |

MEMBERSHIP: | Members of the Committee are appointed by the Borough Council and their terms are subject to the pleasure of the Council. |

RESPONSIBILITY: |
The Committee is responsible to the Borough Council and may look to the governing body for guidance and assistance in its work. State agencies, Municipal Advisory Boards, interested organizations and residents in Mountain Lakes may also be a source of assistance and guidance.
The Committee should coordinate with the Shade Tree Commission in carrying out relevant activities. The Committee, with the authorization of the Borough Manager, may work with other personnel of the Borough, including the Borough Engineer and the Borough Attorney. Costs to the Borough should not, however, be incurred without prior agreement from the Borough Manager. |

REPORTING: | The Committee is requested to furnish status reports as appropriate in the judgment of the Committee, but at least once a year. |
