TO ALL DOG OWNERS:
THE PROBLEM OF DOGS FOULING OUR SIDEWALKS AND PATHS IS AN INCREASING PROBLEM.  OUR PRESENT ORDINANCE BANS DOGS FROM OUR BEACHES, PLAYGROUNDS AND SCHOOL FIELDS.  THE COUNCIL PASSED A "POOPER-SCOOPER" ORDINANCE.  RESIDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO CLEAN UP AFTER THEIR DOGS.  PLEASE OBSERVE OUR PRESENT REGULATIONS AND PLEASE CURB YOUR DOG.  THANK YOU.

APPLICATION FOR 2008 DOG AND CAT LICENSES

If you no longer have a pet that was registered last year, please call the Borough Hall and let us know.

The State has mandated that rabies vaccinations must be valid for the licensing year.  This means that if your pet’s (dog/cat) rabies inoculation expires during the calendar year 2008 between the dates of January 1st and October 31st, you will not be able to renew the license in January without first having your pet revaccinated.  If you have any question as to the status of your pet’s rabies vaccination from last year’s license, please call me at the Borough Hall.  Please check to see that your pet’s rabies inoculation is valid before you apply for a new license.

If you are unable to come in to the Borough Hall in person to renew or obtain a license, please fill out the form and return it to the Borough Hall, 400 Boulevard, Mountain Lakes, N.J.  07046; and enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope and a check for the proper amount.  IF YOU OWN BOTH A DOG AND A CAT, PLEASE SEND IN SEPARATE CHECKS AND APPLICATIONS.  Only those applications with return envelopes and the proper postage will be mailed back.  All others will have to be picked up at the Borough Hall.  Proof of rabies inoculation must also be sent.  Licenses must be renewed or obtained by January 31, 2008.  Licenses issued after January 31st will be charged an additional $25.00 late fee per license.  If your pet is neutered or spayed, written proof must also be sent in unless we have it on file from a previous year.  All dogs and cats 7 months of age and over must be licensed.

2008 licenses will be issued beginning on January 5, 2008.  Listed below are the license fees.  Please send in the proper amount that is applicable to your pet’s license.  (separate checks for dog and cat licenses please)

RENEWALS OR LICENSES ISSUED AFTER JANUARY 31, 2008 WILL BE CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL $25.00 LATE FEE PER LICENSE.
